SQL - Mode Archive in SQL SERVER

Hi

Here i am in a course of college DATA BASES II, the thing is that the profesor is married with ORACLE so he show as the Archive mode for ORACLE. He said that this is the best oo it, so he said "You have to find out if SQL SERVER has it, if it exist". The closes thing that i find was the Mantenien Plan but he said that´s not it. So i wanna know if someone know somethind about, or at least some idea to investigate. Thanks for the persons who answer me. Thanks!!
