PostgreSQL - PgAdmin III

Tengo un postgresql 7.4.2 en una máquina con ip 192.168.1.3, y el pgadmin 3 en otra con ip 192.168.1.2. Cuando intento conectar con el pgadmin, me da el siguiente error:

"Error connecting to the server Connection refused.
Is the server runnning on host "192.168.1.3" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432?"

My questions are:

- The port 5432 is the default port that gives pgadmin... is it correct?,
does postgresql open this port when I wake up it?, if it doesn´t... which
is the right one or where can I config it?

- The user I have its "service0". Is there any chance to give him a
password? or, when I create it, what password gives postgres by
default?

Revisa el archivo pg_hba.conf, ahi estan los permisos para acceder a las bases de datos desde la red
generalmente se encuentra en : /var/lib/pgsql/data

He tenido el mismo problema, al querer configurar el PgAdmin III y el programa EMS PGSQL. La ayuda del PgAdmin indica que debe hacerse un cambio en el archivo Pgsql.conf que se encuentra en:
Var/lib/pgsql/data (red hat 9), ahi se debe añadir la siguiente linea,
tcpip=true
y colocar ademas true en la linea:

tcpip_socket=false

ahora en esta ultima linea aparece con el simbolo #, un amigo me ha dicho que se debe quitar para que funcione, pero recien lo voy a probar, espero que te sirva mi ayuda, si alguien tiene algun otro dato se los agradeceria.
