PHP - Correo en formato html

hola, estoy usando la funcion mail, para enviar mails, y todo va fenomeno :

mail ($destino, "SOLICITUD", $contenido, "From: Consultas <$e_mail>");

Pero cuando quise introducir tags html en la variable $contenido, al recibir el mensaje, me llega todo sin formato, es decir en codigo como si lo estuviera leyendo con el Block de Notas en lugar del Outlook.
Como soluciono esto, alguien lo sabe? GRACIAS

mail("$to","$subject","$message","From: $from \nContent-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1\nContent-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit");
prueba con eso !
